Dear Gaston, Cleveland, and Lincoln County Fire Departments,
As you all may have heard the Cherryville
Fire Department received grant money to purchase a Mobile Fire Safety
House and Sparky the Fire Dog costume. We will offer it to any fire department
for use with several requirements.

- One member of the Cherryville Fire Department
must accompany the Fire Safety House for the first year of operation
unless approved by Chief Jeff Cash or Captain Jason Wofford.
- The Fire Safety House must be cleaned before returning.
- All classes will need to be documented for reporting
to FEMA. How many personnel, children and adults attending the class
are required.
- Any scheduling must be done through the Cherryville
Fire Department. Any outside agency will be directed to call the fire
department within their respective fire district. After being contacted
it is the responsibility of the fire department personnel to decide
whether or not to schedule the fire safety house for its use.
- The Cherryville Fire Department will work
in conjunction with all fire departments to deliver any fire safety
classes outside of our jurisdiction.
- If the Fire Safety House must be kept over night
we will recommend that it be secured in a proper location.
We urge you to work with outside agencies, i.e. churches,
schools, and business to allow for the best results in fire prevention
within your area. This letter is intended to make you aware of your
resources. We do not feel that we should enter your fire district and
take any credit for fire prevention. We just want to offer you a tremendous
tool to do the job.
Sincerely,
Jason Wofford, Captain
Cherryville
Fire Department
